Find yourself a nice new theme, Swoop and awaaaaaaaay you go. They have hundreds of free templates/themes to choose from and interesting widgets.

Like for example, is the picture header supposed to change automatically :unsure

I remain convinced that this is a decent, if somewhat embarrassing move.

Question: probably to TC, but anyone else as well: Is it an idea to publish a short story on it to try & gain attention? I appreciate that means its theoretically published & so the rights are fucked, but is it an idea?
Also, what kind of links & stuff do you need?

    I need a manager, or a secretary....or a gun :angry

The picture in the header you'll have to remove yourself I think or replace it with whatever you want but I'd suggest maybe finding a theme without one.

edit: Ok, Swoop. There are many to choose from though and you may find something you prefer to that one. I thought you were on the default one.

Whats the difference between free & paying for it.....& dont answer paying for it :banghead

Is this what TC meant about not being able to take stuff with you? I'll check

The free ones are just more basic looks wise - the paid for ones, people put more effort into and they'll look pretty professional but there are some nice free ones which, if you want, you can "jazz up" a little yourself.

Okay, okay, okay....why would I need to pay for one though? Can I transfer my unpaid stuff to a paid one @ a later date? Does a paid one give me a domain name, as in taking out the wordpress bit out of the address.
....& if thats true, doesnt that mean a publisher will think you are more serious if you have a paid one ?

....& why wordpress rather than blogspot?

I don't know blogspot. I know wordpress though. I think that's the most popular one and so you'll have plenty of help around as well as widgets and themes.

You can obviously buy yourself a domain name and also hosting - that's up to you man but I'd agree it would look more serious. And changing themes doesn't affect your content at all - just the look of the blog. You can change themes as often as you like without worrying about your content. If you decided to move to your own domain then I'm not sure.

Best decide now what you want before adding too much.

Slick will probably know the cheaper options when it comes to hosting. £5 a month maybe? And around.... a tenner for a domain name or thereabouts.

I was reading the Independent at work :embarassed
Read a article on a new site called Unbound , hang on a sec :leaving

    BRINGING AUTHORS AND READERS TOGETHER
We think authors and readers should decide which books get published. On the Unbound site, authors pitch their ideas directly to you. If you like what you read, you can pledge your support to help make the book happen. Everyone who supports an author before they reach 100% of the funding target gets their name printed in every edition of that book. All levels include a digital version and immediate access to the author's shed while they write the book, and supporters of projects that don't reach their target receive a full refund.
If you like the sound of that, then sign up and have a look around. We've got some great projects and we'd love you to help make them happen.

Nice one, might even get one of them to cut your grass while they're loitering around your shed, eh Swoop. Best clear out that porn collection you had in there, mind.
